HOTEL POLICIES & GUEST TERMS

At Jagat Niwas Palace, our guest policies are thoughtfully crafted to ensure a seamless, comfortable, and secure stay while preserving the timeless elegance and heritage of our historic palace. We invite you to review these guidelines before your arrival for a truly memorable experience.

All reservations are subject to availability and confirmation by the hotel.

Direct bookings are considered confirmed only upon receipt of the applicable advance payment communicated at the time of reservation.

The hotel reserves the right to release unguaranteed reservations without prior notice.

Current room tariffs may differ from the rates applicable at the time of booking confirmation.

Room allocation within the booked category remains subject to availability and operational requirements.

Being a heritage property, every room is unique in layout, dimensions, décor, view and configuration, even within the same room category. Specific room numbers or locations cannot be guaranteed.

Standard Check-In Time: 2:00 PM

Standard Check-Out Time: 12:00 Noon

Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed in advance.

The hotel reserves the right to refuse early check-in or late check-out requests based on occupancy levels and operational requirements.

Late Check-Out Charges

Until 1:00 PM: Complimentary, subject to availability and no arrivals waiting for the room. Between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM: 50% of the applicable room tariff.

After 4:00 PM: Full room tariff applicable.

As per Government of India regulations, all guests including Indian Nationals, NRIs and Foreign Nationals must present valid government-issued photo identification at the time of check-in.

Acceptable identification includes:

Passport

Passport with valid Visa (for foreign nationals) Aadhaar Card

Driving License

Voter Identification Card

PAN Cards, employee identification cards and digital copies without verification are not accepted as valid proof of identity. The hotel reserves the right to deny accommodation in the absence of valid identification documentation.

Foreign nationals must additionally comply with all FRRO and immigration reporting requirements applicable under Indian law.

Guests possessing identification showing an address within Udaipur city limits may not be permitted accommodation at the sole discretion of the hotel.

The hotel reserves the right to refuse local bookings without assigning a reason.

The primary registered guest must be at least 18 years of age to check in and occupy a room independently.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times during their stay. The hotel is a heritage building and please be careful near windows, steps, platforms, etc. as they are not child-proofed.

Children aged 0–4 years stay complimentary when sharing existing bedding with parents.

Children aged 5–7 years stay complimentary without an extra bed; however breakfast charges apply.

Children aged 8 years and above are considered adults for occupancy purposes and an extra bed is mandatory where applicable.

Additional Charges

Extra Bed with Breakfast: INR 2,500 net per night inclusive of taxes for guests aged 8 years and above. Child Breakfast Supplement (5–7 years): INR 1,800 net per child per day.

Triple occupancy bookings will be accommodated using an extra mattress or foldable cot subject to room configuration and availability.

The hotel reserves the right to restrict additional occupancy in rooms that do not safely permit it.

For the safety, privacy and security of all guests, visitors who are not registered occupants are not permitted inside guest rooms.

All meetings with non-resident visitors must take place in designated public areas of the hotel. The hotel reserves the right to request identification from visitors entering the premises.

Guests are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and responsible manner towards fellow guests, hotel staff and hotel property.

Any behaviour deemed abusive, threatening, disruptive, illegal, intoxicated, violent, discriminatory or inappropriate may result in immediate eviction without refund.

Verbal abuse, harassment, intimidation, physical violence or misconduct directed towards employees or guests will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The hotel reserves the right to involve local authorities whenever required.

Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas.

Smoking in non-smoking rooms or restricted areas may attract cleaning, deodorisation and restoration charges as determined by the hotel.

Consumption of food, beverages and alcohol not purchased from the hotel is prohibited unless expressly approved by management.

The hotel reserves the right to levy service or corkage charges where exceptions are permitted.

Consumption or possession of illegal narcotics, banned substances or contraband is strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement authorities.

Firearms, explosives, hazardous chemicals, flammable materials and weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited within hotel premises.

The hotel reserves the right to notify law enforcement authorities if prohibited items are discovered.

Pets and animals are not permitted within the property unless explicitly approved in writing by management prior to arrival.

Guests shall be responsible for any loss, damage or excessive soiling caused to hotel property, fixtures, furnishings, equipment, linen, décor or inventory during their stay.

Repair, replacement and associated downtime costs may be charged directly to the guest.

The hotel reserves the right to charge the guest’s card or recover damages through appropriate legal channels where necessary.

Guests are advised to keep valuables, jewellery, cash and important documents secured at all times.

The hotel shall not be liable for loss, theft, damage or disappearance of money, valuables, vehicles, luggage or personal belongings unless deposited formally with the hotel against an official receipt where such facility exists.

The hotel shall not be responsible for losses arising from events beyond its reasonable control including natural disasters, civil disturbances, strikes, government actions, power outages or force majeure events.

Guests use all facilities and amenities entirely at their own risk.

Guests shall comply with all fire safety procedures, emergency instructions and evacuation protocols issued by the hotel. Tampering with fire alarms, emergency equipment or safety installations is strictly prohibited and may result in penalties and eviction.

The hotel reserves the right to enter occupied rooms during emergencies, maintenance requirements or situations affecting guest safety.

Housekeeping services are provided during designated operating hours.

The hotel reserves the right to access occupied rooms for maintenance, repairs, emergencies, safety inspections or operational reasons after reasonable notice wherever possible.

Guests are expected to maintain reasonable cleanliness and hygiene standards within their rooms.

Commercial photography, videography, filming, influencer shoots, fashion shoots, drone operations or promotional content creation require prior written approval from hotel management.

Unauthorised commercial use of photographs, videos or images of the property may result in legal action. The hotel reserves the right to refuse photography activities that disturb guests or operations.

Operation of drones or aerial equipment is prohibited without prior written approval from hotel management and relevant government authorities.

Jagat Niwas Palace does not provide on-site parking facilities. Guests may use nearby public pay-and-park facilities including:

Complimentary arrival and departure transfers by auto-rickshaw between designated parking locations and the hotel are available between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

Complimentary boat transfers between Doodh Talai Jetty and the hotel operate between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM subject to weather conditions, water levels, operational requirements and availability.

During festivals, processions or traffic restrictions, transportation may be arranged through auto-rickshaw, boat or two-wheeler depending upon accessibility and availability.

Requests for extension of stay are subject to room availability.

Extended stays shall be charged at the prevailing room tariff applicable on the date of extension request.

Reservations cancelled within 21 days prior to arrival shall attract retention charges equivalent to one night’s room tariff. Reservations cannot be modified within 21 days of the scheduled arrival date.

No cancellations or modifications are permitted after check-in. No refunds are applicable in case of no-show.

No refunds are applicable for early departures or shortened stays after check-in.

The hotel shall not be held liable for failure to provide accommodation or services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, governmental restrictions, strikes, riots, terrorism, civil unrest or utility failures.

The hotel reserves the right of admission.

Management reserves the right to refuse accommodation, discontinue services or require any guest to leave the premises without refund if deemed necessary for the safety, security, comfort or wellbeing of guests, employees or the property.

Hotel policies may be modified, updated or revised without prior notice.

The latest version of these policies shall supersede all previous versions and shall apply to all reservations and stays.

By staying with us, you accept the hotel policies and consent to CCTV coverage in the premises and permission to charge for incidental expenses and damages.
